400 years of silence, God's people wondered why
He sent no sign nor prophet, no whisper, not a sound
Where was the Messiah, He'd promised would arrive?
A King who would deliver from Romans all around
A prophecy fullfilled, a virgin great with child
To Bethlehem would travel, to birth a special Son
Stuck in a lowly stable, worse than a rustic style
Destiny came calling, for God's plan to be done.
Mary prayed, "Don't let my baby come tonight.
I'm so tired from our travel and this stable is a fright"
But with angels, shepherds and a star in the sky
God broke his years of silence that night with her baby's cry
Shepherds from the meadows, came looking for to see
This miracle the angels revealed to them that night
The child king in a manger fulfillng prophecy
Would set the world on notice, now with a baby's cry
"For unto you is born, in the City of David
A Saviour, who is Christ the Lord."

Away In A Manger and Silent Night be (Bb) sung,
We'd take Him on a (F) hay ride, while
(C7) jingle bells are (F) rung (C7)
While Jesus sips his cocoa, we'd all sing Jingle Bells
Then when He joins the music... My God! He sings so well!
When we get to the chorus, He "Jingles" with the rest
